Two Player VR Games (with one headset)

Playing video games on a VR headset is a very surreal experience. Although you know that your virtual surroundings are not real, you still find yourself fully immersed into the world. It’s such a bizarre feeling.

There are many unique, fun VR games that you can enjoy with another person, the only problem is, most of the time you need another VR headset, which isn’t possible for everyone due to how pricey these headsets can be!

But not to worry, here are some amazing two player VR games that only require one headset.

Two Player VR Games (with one headset)

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

co op vr games with one headset

Probably one of the more well known co-op games on VR, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes only requires one VR headset and a manual that you can either print out physically or have loaded up as a PDF on your desktop.

In Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, the player wearing the headset must relay what they see on the bomb so that the other players on the desktop can work out how to disarm it using the manual. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a fun, entertaining Two Player VR Game that only requires one headset. I highly recommend it.

Diner Duo

coop vr games list

Diner Duo is the perfect Two Player VR Game that only requires one headset, but two players. In this Diner Dash inspired game, one player needs to control their robot character via a desktop computer, taking orders from customers and handing that over to the chef who has to cook the food in VR mode.

The game is very fast paced, but nonetheless fun as you have to quickly take in orders and churn them out correctly before your patrons get up and leave. It’s yet another Two Player VR Game (with one headset) that requires the players to work together.

Panoptic

can two players play panoptic with one vr headset

Unlike the previous two entries on this list so far, Panoptic is a Two Player VR game (with one headset) that actually puts the players against each other.

In this stealthy game of cat and mouse, the player with the VR headset takes on the role of the Overseer, a powerful being that searches the world and its inhabitants for any signs of an uprising. The other player has to blend in as one of the other Beings, as they have to destroy the Overseer’s energy sources without getting spotted. As an award winning game, I highly recommend Panoptic as the perfect Two Player VR Game that can be enjoyed with only one VR headset.

Late For Work

party vr games wth one headset

Defined as the perfect couch game for up to four players, Late For Work sees the VR player taking on the role of a giant gorilla and causes as much destruction as possible. For the remaining players, they must work together via desktop to bring down the gorilla.

Late For Work is a crazy experience which brings both VR and non-VR players together for hours of entertaining fun and chaos. It’s the perfect Two Player VR Game that only requires one headset, and can allow for every player to swap out in between roles to see who can earn the most points.

Carly and the Reaperman: Escape From the Underworld

co op vr games that only requires one headset

Truly a unique platforming experience, Carly and the Reaperman: Escape From the Underworld sees two players who have to work together to solve puzzles and traverse through the underworld.

Carly and the Reaperman: Escape From the Underworld can be played alone or with another player and utilises your VR headset. One player can take control of Carly and navigate the underworld via desktop whilst the VR player can assist with the platforming elements. It’s a game that gives gamers a truly unique gaming experience.

Acron: Attack of the Squirrels

party vr games

Similar to Late For Work, Acron: Attack of the Squirrels is an addictive VR- mobile hybrid, which only requires one VR headset. Ideal for a party, this game sees the VR player take on the role of an overprotective tree who has to defend itself against the other players who control squirrels from the comfort of their mobile devices.

In this hectic couch game, the squirrels must try and steal the golden acorns as the tree has to try and stop them. If you’re looking for a fun, lighthearted party game but only have one VR headset, then Acron: Attack of the Squirrels, would be an entertaining game for you and your friends to enjoy.

Black Hat Cooperative

two player vr games that only need one headset

Here is a great Two Player VR Game that only requires one headset. Black Hat Cooperative is a two player co op stealth game, where one player has to sneak past enemies and navigate around in VR, whilst the other player is on keyboard and mouse, with full access to maps and hacking software.

You must work together to cooperate and communicate in order to survive and complete the levels. It might not look as graphically pleasing as the other games however it's certainly an entertaining challenge for both players.
